Some thoughts about Harley Quinn #1

Harley Quinn's new life begins now.

Harley has just inherited a whole new apartment in a pretty strange and dangerous neighborhood where she will find strange and threatening people. The worst part of it? She needs to find a job.

Oh yeah, this is turning to be one of my favorites already. Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti don't break the fourth wall anymore sadly but they still manage to create a quite crazy adventure. The characters who Harley meets in this issue are full of personality while the way she tries to adapt to normal life is a disastrous delight to see. I especially like how her closest confident keeps being the stuffed beaver from the last issue which just adds to the insanity.

There's also some interesting sub-plots being developed of course. Who gave the apartment to Harley? What kind of neighbors does she have? Who is trying to kill her? Etc. Is a really compelling read.

Chad Hardin is the main artist as announced and again, he shows quite the improvement over his work on Demon Knights. Expressive, attractive and humorous when it needs to be.

Insanely wonderful issue. More of this please!

  1. Really? I've been following your blog and your reviews. This was not that good. This is a 1.5/5 In fact it was pretty bad. Strange. This is the first time i disagree with your reviews. I found it boring and pretentious

    1. Well for one, thank you for following my blog and second, it's cool, we can't always have the same opinions.

Although I would like to know what you didn't like about this issue.

  2. Unfunny "jokes" for once. It left me a very bad aftertaste, like i was reading a bad fanfiction. The dialogues were mediocre and the art is too heavy and at the same time too amateurish. This really felt like a deviantart comic. And the plot, well the plot could fit on two pages. This felt like a two page comic expanded. I won't be following it. Sorry, this was bad, really bad and it's not worth it's price. Keep up the good work.
