Some thoughts about Action Comics #26

Back to present time Superman still has to save Lana Lang.

A new kind of monster is threatening the world and Lana is on his way and despite of Clark's best intentions there are people who apparently have something against him.

I guess we could call this the first proper issue of Greg Pak's run since the last one was basically an origin and it's pretty satisfying at that. Pak's characterization of Clark Kent is quite on-point and even presents some interesting dilemmas from his youth that affect his current judgement. Lana is also pretty appealing so far, Pak gives her a new portrayal that I must say is one of the most exciting I have seen from her yet.

There are also different important sub-plots being introduced here: The mysterious monster, where he comes, the Ghost Soldier, who are they bosses. The story progress pretty nicely.

This is one of the cases where the artist contributes with a lot of the quality for this story. Aaron Kuder's art is magnificent with an style that is very reminicent of Frank Quitely's and also has fantastic storytelling techniques.

Great issue. This creative team are well on their road.
