How can the Green Lanterns survive now?
John has been transported to an early war between the New Gods. Meanwhile, Simon and Jo will have to help Keli awake before she destroys everything with her constructs.
Still a pretty enjoyable work.
Geoffrey Thorne offers a new installment with the same two segments. The first one features John's travels to a young age of the New Gods which allows for an interesting exploration not only of the history of those characters but also from the Guardians of the Universe, particularly Ganthet which ultimately leads to a new development in John's abilities. As a whole this is the more plot-centered section of the read. Tom Raney's artwork is pretty solid due to amount of details in the storytelling and characters.
However, my favorite part is the second story focusing on Simon, Jo and Keli due that is mostly character-oriented and pretty good at that. By trying to rescue the youngest of the Lanterns, we know more about the other members of the cast, there are a few bits like how Jo is an anime fan but definitely Simon gets the best portrayal here by showing how much he cares Keli and how compassionate of a person he actually is. Marco Santucci's expressive characters definitely sell the moments.
Good read, hope the next one arrives soon.
