Who is Ghostmaker?
Nightwing can't help but remember the time when Bruce told him about the friend he lost, a friend that is going to cause the death of many people.
You just can't sell this idea, stop trying.
I wish someone told that to James Tynion IV but it seems like he genuinely thinks he's covering new ground here. You just know that because of how much he explores the past of Ghostmaker, taking him as seriously as possible and is just more waste of time because the goddamn "antagonist" is as derivative as you can get. Tynion is simply not self-aware in the slightlest.
The narration doesn't make things any better due that the writer still needs to explain everything with too much detail to the point it seems unnatural (particularly when Batman tells Ghostmaker's story and Lord knows we don't need more of that). That and the little plot-progression makes this seem both with too much of the bad content and too little of the good one.
Ryan Benjamin and Danny Miki's pencils are fine by themselves but their styles clash too much.
Can't recommend. Just wait until this whole run ends.
