Some thoughts about The Curse of Brimstone #1

Your wishes might come with a cost.

Tom Chamberlain has been trying to sustain his family and make his town great again and a mysterious man might have the answer for that.

The Metal spinoffs continue and this time they offer a much more interesting premise.

Justin Jordan arrives with a pretty interesting setting and cast. The plot is centered around the little town of York Hill and the struggles the family Chamberlain has to endure to survive. It automatically makes the protagonist, Tom, sympathetic due to the noble and understandable motivations he has while the compelling interactions with the rest of the cast including his sister and father cement the idea even more, the natural dialogue certainly helps to make such scenes much more engaging.

The plot itself doesn't progress much but it manage to set the upcoming events up nicely while creating an intriguing mystery about the nature of Tom's new abilities as well as their source.

I have a few problems with the art though, Philip Tan has an unique style but one that is not particularly clear and doesn't tell the story as well as it should.

That being said, this is still a pretty promising beginning and truly one of the best among the Metal spinoffs. I'm on board.
