Can Wonder Woman fight alongside one of the most bizarre creatures she has met?
In a time where her people need help, Diana will be forced to remember the last time she met the Devil of the Tasmanian Fields which could be her only hope.
Well, colour me surprised.
Tony Bedard delivers one of the craziest DC/Looney Tunes crossover and most people might know my history with this particular writer so believe me that I'm pretty shocked to say that I actually liked this one. Bedard gives Taz an actual interesting backstory that perfectly connects him to Wonder Woman and her mythos and Taz manages to be pretty useful during the plot.
Not only that but Bedard actually creates DEPTH for Taz! He gives the character much more complexity and makes him more sympathetic than ever, there's a particular scene that was actually pretty touching. This is the kind of stories that I expect from these crossovers, a more serious take that is still faithful to the original.
Barry Kitson handles the art and is decent with expressive characters and clear storytelling although it looked a bit rough at times.
There's a second segment written by Bedard once again and drawn by Ben Caldwell and is a more cartoony story but it fits with the nature of Taz.
Solid stuff, quite the shock indeed.
