The Lost Light is about to lose of its members.
The Functionist Universe has become impossible to save and now Rodimus and his crew will have to do anything in their power to escape while Megatron to make an ultimate sacrifice.
Some things worked, others didn't.
James Roberts brings the conclusion of the first storyline from this book and solves many of the plot-points he created here and even during More than Meets the Eye. The characterization continues to be pretty solid by giving most characters the classic funny lines that you can expect from this book while also delivering good personal moments for most of the cast including Rodimus, Megatron, Nautica and Anode among others, Anode in particular receive a solid resolution for her ongoing development.
That being said, I'm not a fan of what happened to Megatron. Yes, I understand that he was basically the main character of MTMTE Season 2 and the book needed to focus on other characters, particularly the original crew, to continue their progress which was put on hold once that Megatron enter the cast. However, I wish his character would have had a better resolution here since it feels pretty abrupt and unsatisfying for the most part.
Jack Lawrence remains in art duties and his work becomes better and better thanks to his fluid and expressive style.
Again, I wish things would have been better but still a nice read.
