Blue Beetle's fate is sealed.
Jaime has been fighting against the Scarab's influence since it arrived but now to save the world he will have to accept it no matter the consequences.
Well, this worked solidly I believe.
Keith Giffen and J.M. DeMatteis bring a new chapter where they put the final fight between Jaime and Arion, and they manage to incorporate almost every concept they have worked on. I have complained in the past about Giffen's tendencies of simply rushing his conclusions whenever one of his books gets cancelled to the point that is disrespectful to readers but I have to appreciate that he's bringing back some of his characters here like O.M.A.C. and Teri in their proper superhero forms which presents interesting plot-points for the future.
And the character work is also solid since we contemplate the struggle that Jaime has to face by becoming the Blue Beetle again to save everyone despite that it could mean the end of his humanity. Is a typical trope but well-executed at least.
Scott Kolins handles the artwork and is appropriate at depicting the chaotic nature of all the different ideas going on here, maybe a bit too chaotic at times.
Enjoyable overall, interested to see more.
