Batgirl will need to stop foes who have more in common with her than she can imagine.
Barbara is still getting used to her new life and all the people she could meet which sadly includes a couple of biker criminals who are causing mayhem everywhere.
Second issue from this new run and it already has become one of my favorite books.
As I've mentioned before, both Cameron Stewart and Brenden Fletcher are able to portray a Barbara Gordon who acts more like a young girl by making her commit the same mistakes you would expect from someone her age. This actually makes the character much more understandable and likable than ever.
Even more important, the tone is absolutely great. This is the kind of lighthearted superhero story that you don't usually see in DC Comics and it truly makes it a really fun read. This doesn't mean that it doesn't have is serious moments though since there's a pretty enjoyable scene where Babs reflect on her past and it helps her to save the day.
Plus, I must say that I really enjoy the portrayal of Black Canary here. She's a lot different from how she was characterized in the New 52 and that's the reason why I like her, it might seem a bit of a drastic change for some but is still a pretty interesting take.
However, my biggest props go to the artwork. Babs Tarr is able to give this story the style that it requires and creates a lot of personality and uniqueness that you hardly see in this company. Also, can I talk about how pretty Black Canary looks here? (Sorry, big fan).
Wonderful installment, probably one of the best reads from this week.
