Can Robin face Deathstroke?
Rose and Damian have finally found Slade and they're ready to take him down but the revelation of Respawn's identity and Batman's sudden arrival will put such battle on hold.
Once again, this series demonstrates to be the best that Joshua Williamson is currently writing.
Unlike Deathstroke Inc. this same week, Robin actually gets pretty much everything right from the beginning. For one, the character work is much, MUCH better here than the one that we saw in Deathstroke Inc. for because is simply a lot more emotional. Take for example Damian's realization that he has a (biological) brother which suddenly makes him happy only to quickly learn that such brother hates him because of how privileged Damian was in comparison or Bruce finally realizing the mistakes he made over the last few years about Damian and how they both should get closer which ends in a pretty fun note. Is all very well-made.
The plot-progression is not so good once again but at the very least we get actual strong development for the main cast to compensate and, I can't believe that I'm saying this, but Williamson actually made Ghost-Maker tolerable by addressing the fact that he's a Batman ripoff and making him part of Batman Inc. Now that's a way to solve a problem.
Roger Cruz handles the art and is decent with expressive characters although lacks a certain polish in the style.
Overall, a pretty solid chapter, more like this please.
