The war goes on.
Batman is trying to figure out who planned to kill Ra's Al Ghul while Deathstroke is being attacked by Talia's army because she believes he's the culprit but Bruce there might be something else behind.
Shadow War part 2 and it follows a consistent path overall.
Joshua Williamson continues this new event from mostly Batman's perspective but he developes other segments at the same time. The investigation with Batman is nicely done due that the writer brings a lot of the suspicions the audience has concerning this mystery while also creating solid character moments between Bruce and Talia surprisingly enough. The other protagonists from this crossover also get a moment to shine including both Deathstroke and Robin, Williamson knows how to progress their different plot-points appropriately as well.
In terms of progression of the main story though, there's not a lot. In fact this is mostly devoted to character moments and action scenes, there's nothing wrong about it since these are well-handled but I'm hoping bigger revelations are coming next.
Howard Porter handles the artwork and is pretty energetic as usual with a detailed style and clear storytelling.
There's a second feature written by Williamson himself about the first encounter between Batman and Deathstroke, is also nicely executed due that he brings the classic history between Slade and the Teen Titans while depicting the similarities between Bruce and Slade adequately. Trevor Hairsine's art is pretty decent and follows the script appropriately.
Good read, hope the next one offers more though.
