Some thoughts about Dark Knights of Steel #5

What is happening to the House of El?

Harley Quinn has decided to ask an old friend for help meanwhile Bruce will tell his brother the truth about their parents but Kal's response will be completely unexpected.

This is getting clearer now but it doesn't excuse the issues this series has.

Tom Taylor offers a new installment where he explores more the sides of this war. Credit where credit is due, I think he handles the relationship between Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy appropriately as usual with a few charming moments which again, is the least we can expect from the writer. There are also interesting dynamics between the rest of the cast the progress the plot bit by bit.

However, based on the last few pages, it seems like there's something very odd going on with the Els. Taylor wants to play it as mystery, about how maybe these are not the people we thought. However, even if that was the case, there's very little complexity in the motivations of the characters, not to mention that the progression of the story due to shock moments is a very Tayloresque and tiring direction that doesn't bring any depth to the plot.

Yasmine Putri continues to shine in art duties though with a vibrant style and beautiful characters that get the best from the script.

Not bad overall but not sure what to think about what's coming next.
