Some thoughts about Blue & Gold #7

The team needs even more Beetles.

Michael and Ted are facing a new powerful foe and to escape they will need the sudden assistance of Jaime Reyes but that's not their biggest problem since one of their greatest enemies is bound to return.

Things are getting much clearer now.

It seems like Dan Jurgens' intentions are not only to bring back the classic Blue & Gold team-ups but also bring back all the multiple plot-points he left unresolved because of editorial changes, reboots and so. Take for example the sudden return of Jaime Reyes in which Jurgens wastes no time in address the connection between him and the protagonists, especially with Booster which is kinda surprising since due to the continuity changes it's hard to know what actually happened. Could it be that Jurgens is referencing the Booster Gold series before Flashpoint? Maybe even his New 52 Justice League International work?

This theme of returning ideas gets even more obvious towards the end. The interactions between the characters is pretty enjoyable along with the classic superheroics you can expect but the more interesting part happens in the final pages when the true mastermind is revealed and it seems like we will have answers for a plot-point that has taken years to be resolved.

Phil Hester and Paul Pelletier share the pencils and while their styles are pretty different, they both make a pretty solid job during their respective sections with clear storytelling and expressive characters.

Good read, hope the conclusion is satisfying.
