Some thoughts about World of Krypton #2

Who is going to cause a war at Krypton?

Kru-El is being punished for his crime by being imprisoned in the Phantom Zone, something that Jor-El is against so one of his closest friends will have to pull the trigger.

Which title handles the conflict between families better? Dark Knights of Steel or this?

Well, first of all and as I mentioned before, Kru-El is still one of the worst villain names ever and something that pretty much makes you realize who is going to be the main antagonist right away. BUT to be fair, Kru here is mostly the catalyst to the real discord between Jor-El and Dru-Zod which, again, is pretty predictable considering their history but the build-up to such enmity is well-handled by Robert Venditti, their conversations are nicely done and you can believe that they were friends at one point, that they still are in fact, is just that they have disagreement about how to apply justice in Krypton. This is issue is full of character work and some plot progression which makes it an overall pretty balanced chapter.

Now about the question about who does a better job with this kind of premise between Tom Taylor and Robert Venditti, while I completely hate Kru-El, at least he leaves the plot pretty early and motivates the rest of cast to react in their own ways while in Taylor's story, the nutjob Zala Jor-El keeps killing people around while the rest just watch her doing it so there's barely any plot there. Thus, World of Krypton wins here.

Michael Avon Oeming is great as usual with his flexible style that, while cartoony, depicts the serious moments very clearly and with a lot of emotion.

Good read, hope things further improve.
