Some thoughts about Suicide Squad: Get Joker #2

What does the Joker want?

Amanda Waller has been attacked and now the team will have to hunt the Joker on their own but finding him might be one of the worst things that could happen to them.

This series gets more and more interesting... but not without a few issues.

Brian Azzarello offers a new installment where the mission has gotten even more dangerous for the whole team. Playing with the ramifications of the last chapter, the group feels more lost than ever and that actually allows for really interesting moments of interaction due that Jason Todd is forced to guide a team in which each people have their own agenda and can barely tolerate each other.

This is nicely emphasized because of the entertaining dynamics between the whole cast. Each character has relationships and conversations with one another and sometimes with multiple members of the team, this creates a quite engaging character work that lets us know more about each one of them and the path that put them in this place. Is easy to like and dislike many of the characters here but all of this is done in purpose.

However, while Azzarello's usual dialogue contributes a lot to enjoyment of the read, it can also be one of its biggest flaws. I like Azzarello's dialogue but there's no doubt that it can get a little tiresome, particularly because its huge focus on puns which at one point tend to get a little predictable.

The plot is pretty fast-paced and offers many great moments. The Joker gets an interesting depiction here too, one that connects appropriately with both Jason and Harley. All of this leads to an intriguing cliffhanger that makes you realize that this series is based on both Suicide Squad films.

Alex Maleev is still a perfect choice for this book due that his grim and gritty style gets the best from each violent scene while delivering clear storytelling.

Good read, let's see how the next one is even better.
