Rorschach is dead, or is he?
The FBI is currently investigating the recent death of Rorschach just when he was about to commit one of his worst acts yet but things might be far from over in this case.
A new series begins and I must say that things are going rather different for a Tom King book.
I usually expect King's book to start either great or terribly, I can't say this is in-between, is more like you can't have a proper opinion just yet because this is mostly a set-up, a mystery that is going to unfold properly in the following issues. Mind you, this might not be that promising per se due that King's last murder mystery was... not good (Heroes in Crisis) but to be fair, the foundation is much more intriguing and allows for an actual serious investigation concerning what seems to be real events.
This is not really about the classic Watchmen story, or even the new Rorschach who appeared in Doomsday Clock, but instead is a sorta Elseworlds tale about what could have happened if Rorschach had a character would have taken his views in an even more extreme way.
King's writing is solid for the most part, surprisingly enough his usual ticks are not present here which allows for a more natural and intriguing flow in the plot and, while the main characters are not that interesting yet, they might be further developed in the future.
Jorge Fornes handles the art and is really expressive with a sorta classic look that is fitting considering the universe this story takes place in.
Solid set-up, let's see how things progress.
