Some thoughts about Superman #23

What is happening to the world of magic?

Superman has been contacted by Doctor Fate due that a mysterious being is coming for the most powerful artifact in existence.

Hey, this was also decent.

Brian Bendis offers a new installment where he explores a little bit of how the superhero community sees Clark revealing his secret identity and is fun for the most part, particularly when it involves characters like the Wonder Twins and John Constantine. Most importantly though, Bendis actually gets a decent development for Clark concerning the abrupt disappearance of Jon from his life and is actually understandable, mind you, this is the kind of stuff I would expect from other writers trying to fix Bendis' mistakes so I'm not sure how to feel about it.

The plot itself is decent enough and I'm glad that they're still using Khalid under the Helmet of Fate. If there's a complaint though is that this is most an issue full of talking which is not weird for Bendis but makes the story progress rather slowly.

One of the reasons why I liked this issue so much is Kevin Maguire's artwork who elevates the conversations to another level thanks to his great range of expressions. John Timms also contributes with a few scenes and does a solid job.

Fine read, hope the next one offers more progression though.
