What are Joker's plans?
Batman believes he can take the Joker once again but what he doesn't know is that this might be his nemesis' biggest scheme yet.
Yeah, I'm not feeling this one.
I thought that the last chapter was decently done as far as Batman's motivations go but I still find the direction that James Tynion IV is following extremely derivative and dull. This doesn't mean that is badly written necessarily though since there are some genuinely interesting moments in terms of character and action, I particularly like how Joker connects to Bruce in certain ways like even using the Mark of the Zorro film as part of his plan and aside from the usual overwritten narration, there's not a lot to dislike writing-wise.
Concept-wise though? This is still extremely creatively-bankrupt since it not only follows every typical "Big Joker Story" ever but also follows basically the same premise of Tynion's own teacher, Snyder, as seen in stories like Death of the Family and Endgame with not much else to add which makes this run feel like Snyder 2.0 as it wasn't obvious enough already. Plus, Punchline still sucks.
Jorge Jimenez' artwork is impressive with great action scenes and character expressions.
Mixed thoughts, not sure what to expect next.
