Some thoughts about Constantine #23

Is Constantine able trick a God to save his loved ones?

Darkseid is about to face John just when he was about to escape Earth 2 along with his family of that universe and if he wants to escape, John will need to do what he does best: Use his wit and pay the cost.

This issue marks the conclusion of Ray Fawkes' work in the character. The author was able to create a really interesting world for Constantine to play so does this issue delivers as an ending?

Well, I would say so since I really liked it.

Fawkes uses the idea of Darkseid as this unbelievably powerful being just like he should be while at the same time giving him an interesting portrayel and presence. The way how John manages to trick him is also quite interesting and it takes us back to a lot of important moments in his life.

The ramifications of this conflict makes a lot of sense and the final reunion with his family goes exactly as well as you would expect.

Jeremy Haun continues in art duties and he delivers a quite good job with nice storytelling skills that interprete the script perfectly.

Really good final chapter and this is yet another series I'm going to miss.
