Some thoughts about Batman #39

The Joker's plans have finally reached their terrifying climax.

Batman is decided to learn more about his archenemy and he's even willing to work with the Court of Owls to save the city. Meanwhile, the Joker is decided to do even bigger things that involve the Batcave and the rest of Gotham City.

Okay, this issue was a little better than the last one overall.

Scott Snyder continues his biggest story about the Joker with him creating chaos around Gotham while at the same time destroying his enemy's allies. One of them is Alfred, I won't tell what happened to him but I will say that Snyder finally did what he initially wanted with the character.

The mystery about the Joker is still going on and is still unfortunately a bit forced at times and takes itself too seriously but is not as abundant as in the last chapter.

There's a little problem though, why are the people from Gotham happy to see carnival made by the Joker? Really, this people deserve to die if they haven't learned anything.

Greg Capullo continues to deliver the best from this series due to his wonderful and epic artwork that manages to make every scene feel relevant.

The backup story is handled by James Tynion IV and is surprisingly more polished than the previous offerings. Sure, it still deals with the overused Joker theme from the main plot but at least it goes into a much more understandable way. Dustin Nguyen's pencils certainly help a lot thanks to his expressive and detailed style.

Overall, it's an okay issue but I can't wait to see this arc end.
