Some thoughts about Secret Avengers #1

The Avengers and S.H.I.E.L.D. have made a pact so they can work together to save the world, the result is much more ridiculous than you what may expect.

Black Widow and Spider-Woman are taking a well-deserved relax time meanwhile Nick Fury Jr. and Hawkeye are trying to survive from different but equally threatining forces. Does Maria Hill has better luck? Apparently no.

The first issue of the relaunched series written enterily by Ales Kot and it's frankly a quite promising first issue but that doesn't mean that it's without flaws.

The postive aspects are that this new volume is quite reader-friendly, you don't need to know much about what happened in the previous volume to understand the events ocurring here, it's pretty self-contained overall.

Another nice factor is the overall sense of fun this issue had. This is pretty much the same tone that you can find in a title like Hawkeye and Ales Kot does a really good job at mimicking that style while also introducing crazy segments and humourous lines.

The problem comes about the plot, it doesn't move much. It's mostly a character-centric issue which is okay but not exactly what you may expect from an Avengers book, not to mention that while some lines of dialogue were indeed funny, others were kinda odd.

Michael Walsh handles the artwork and it's pretty much the same style that other artists use in the Hawkeye title which is something quite good for the kind of tale that Kot is creating, it's a pretty good fit.

Fun issue overall, not exactly spectacular but fun nonetheless.
