Some thoughts about Robin #9

What does Robin need?

Damian has been fighting all this time and now he's facing one of the strongest creatures he has ever encountered and to defeat him, he will have to ask what he has been refusing all this time.

Great culmination of character work!

Joshua Williamson offers a new installment where he pretty much solves all the problems that Damian Wayne over the last few years. Coming from the last cliffhanger with the Lazarus Demon finally appearing and Damian having to recognize what he has been lacking all this time, something that his father realized when he became Batman and something so on-point that is once again yet another example about how well Williamson salvages characters.

Seriously, there is a lot to appreciate here including the reference to Grant Morrison's Batman: The Return of Bruce Wayne due that main theme of both works are nicely connected and this is even more fitting for Damian here since all these years he has been either lying to or coercing his partners to work with him, this is an incredible development.

Roger Cruz handles the art and his work is solid with a vibrant style and strong action scenes.

Great read, one of the best this week.
