Some thoughts about Justice League Incarnate #2

Who can save the House of Heroes?

President Superman has decided they need the help of other heroes from the Multiverse to combat Darkseid's forces but he will soon realize that the Multiverse itself is going out of control.

Well, quite a lot of things happened here.

Joshua Williamson and Dennis Culver expands the adventure through many different universes. The main focus goes to the reality where Superdemon and magic are dominant which is a nice callback to Grant Morrison's Multiversity and it makes a lot of sense considering how all the characters involved here were relevant in that event. There's also solid character work involving both Calvin and Thomas along with a few other members of the cast that create an overall consistent experience, it was cool to see infamous characters like Fate getting some of the spotlight despite that most of it were to make them look weak.

There's a lot of progress in the plot as well with the battle against Darkseid escalating quickly while at the same time planting important sub-plots and hints about what's going to happen in future issues. Mind you, this comes a bit at the cost of the pacing which is a bit erratic but doesn't really ruin the read.

Kyle Hotz, Andrei Bressan and Paul Pelletier handle art duties and their work is separated in different segments on the story based on the different Earths and they fit nicely in each one with appropriate detail and storytelling.

Good read, hope the next one arrives soon.
