Some thoughts about Aquaman: The Becoming #4

Who is Jackson's mother?

After the sudden appearance of Jackson's sister, he has started to question his whole life and things will become even worse once that the past of his mother is revealed.

Better than the last issue at least.

Brandon Thomas offers a new chapter where he delivers tons of info. I was really underwhelmed by the whole "Jackson has an evil sister!" reveal because of how extremely cliche it was but fortunately, Thomas doesn't dwell too much into that and instead decides to explore the background of Jackson's mother which is appreciated since we have barely seen anything about her before.

And the revelation works fine due that it displays a nice contrast between her and Black Manta by apparently creating a more morally grey character and not all has been revealed yet. Mind you, this comes with a few issues like how it seems like a big infodump in which the characters just start explaining everything to the protagonist and therefore, the audience, it doesn't ruin the read though.

Scott Koblish handles the art and is solid with expressive characters, a clean style and a lot of detail.

Decent chapter. Hope things get better from now on.
