Can Wonder Girl find a way out?
Yara and her new boyfriend have found themselves in a strange forest being chased by Deities just when the other Amazons are looking for her.
Well, it seems like I didn't miss an issue here for once.
Joelle Jones continues her enjoyable but kinda flawed work here. For one, I still really like the portrayal she gives to Yara as well as the mythology she's building around her as well as most of the characters she's introducing, particularly the supernatural ones which includes the little one from her Future State work. There's also a decent amount of content here despite of Jones' emphasis on the spectacle.
The problems come with the pacing that is still a little jumpy, I'm talking about the transitions between the scenes focusing on Yara and the ones focusing on the other Amazons which don't really mix well with each other and kinda disrupts the flow of the read. Also, I couldn't care less about the new love interest here and yet they want to make the act of leaving him as some sort of big deal.
Jones is accompanied by Adriana Melo in pencils and their work is really good looking during their respective scenes with a great range of expressions, detail and energy but again, this doesn't help with the erratic pacing because of the different styles.
Decent overall, hope some issues get fixed next time.
