Some thoughts about Green Lantern #5

Can Teen Lantern face one of the worst threats in the universe?

Sinestro is decided to take down any of his enemies, even if it includes a little girl. Meanwhile, John Stewart has to deal with the consequences of leaving the Corps behind.

Getting consistently better.

Geoffrey Thorne delivers a new chapter with both action and character work. The first segment focusing on both Sinestro and Teen Lantern is the more intense part of the issue, full of exciting fight scenes but at the same time revealing enough about both characters to count as character development. The escalation concerning Sinestro's threat was well-handled and the revelation about Keli's past makes her more compelling. A few nitpicks like the fact that John Stewart is Keli's hero because of how she uses a construct of him as her weapon, which is weird considering they recently met, but I'm willing to let it pass.

Marco Santucci's art is pretty solid with expressive characters and detailed action scenes.

The second feature about John is shorter for once and is devoted mostly to how John handles the ramifications of the attack to the Corps. It presents an interesting dilemma for him since he had to leave his comrades behind to save another planet and it will most certainly be developed further in the future. Tom Raney's art is quite detailed and follows the story nicely.

Good chapter, hope things continue this way.
