Can the Justice League return?
Hal and Barry are looking for his friends among the different realities and their bond will be the only thing that will make them fight back the Great Darkness.
Nothing surprises me really.
Joshua Williamson offers a new installment where the typical crossover formula continues. Is not like is completely devoid of good moments though since, as usual, Williamson's strengths is based on the character work and there are quite few good moments in that regard like the heroes realizing that the people their care about are the connection that can make them come back, Nightwing reuniting everyone and realizing who they are, Batman knowing Superman more than anyone, etc. These are the kind of scenes that makes me thing this is not a complete waste.
... Then again, there's the plot, or lack of it. The crossover story is by the numbers with Pariah still failing at being a convincing antagonist and the pacing being exactly what you would expect, I'm still waiting for something actually compelling to happen and 5 issues in is too much. Worst of all is that a lot of the "plot" happened (and is going to happen) in tie-ins which I don't have enough time or interest to read nowadays.
Daniel Sampere handles the art and is still great thanks to his vibrant look and beautiful characters that capture every scene powerfully.
Mixed bag once again, I just want this to end already.
