Some thoughts about Green Arrow #41

How can Green Arrow defeat a bunch of supervillains?

Oliver has been contacted to transport the Parasite to a facility but things won't get any easy once that a bunch of metahumans try to escape.

I honestly wasn't expecting Mairghread Scott on this book, mostly because I was so accustomed to her Transformers work but if I remember correctly, she wrote a decent enough story about Green Arrow in a previous special and this still gets the job done at the very least.

The premise itself is sound. The fact that Ollie has been chosen to transport the Parasite due that he doesn't have any powers that the supervillain can absorb makes a lot of sense and also plays with the classic them of humanity that the character always requires. In fact, such theme is constantly brought once that Ollie is forced to fight against other metahumans including his classic enemy Count Vertigo (who is sadly the lame Ben Percy version instead of the far superior that Jeff Lemire created) and others particularly from Superman's gallery.

Scott's dialogue is sadly what is not that appealing. Her narration has never been particularly subtle nor has enough personality to be special and so, while the characterization and lines seem on-point, the presentation is not that impressive. Also, the fact that Ollie hates prisons doesn't make much sense no matter his forced Liberal persona.

Mathew Clark's artwork is pretty solid although a bit rough at times, the storytelling is pretty clear for the most part despite of how chaotic all seems.

Simple but appropriate, classic Scott. Hope the conclusion is decent.
