Nobody lives forever.
Jon and Damian have just learned that the Blue Falcon has been controlled by his worst enemy and now they will have to help Dynomutt to save his best friend before is too late.
Man, I have gotten lucky here. I started with the least interesting crossover of the bunch (Black Lightning/Hong Kong Phooey) and finished with the best.
Peter Tomasi delivers yet another strong installment of his Super Sons work by opening in the best way possible. Tomasi reinterprets the classic Dynomutt and the Blue Falcon characters in a really touching manner by showing how close they are and how much they care for each other while establishing them in a way that makes sense for the DCU, hell, Tomasi even made them part of Batman Inc. which is pretty logical considering the kind of hero that Blue Falcon is.
The story also has a strong theme about life and death which is connected to the whole origin of the Hanna Barbera heroes and this is especially emphasized towards the end when one of the characters has to die to save the other. Mind you, the ending kinda betrays the whole premise but on the other hand, it still allows for a happy ending and considering that I'm fond of stories of dogs and their owners, I'm glad it turned this way.
Fernando Pasarin handles the art and is solid thanks to the good character expressions and precise storytelling.
Excellent read, proof that Tomasi needs to write more tales like this.
