Some thoughts about Grayson Annual #3

Who is Agent 37?

John Constantine, Harley Quinn, Azrael, Simon Baz and Jim Corrigan have reunited to tell stories about the mysterious Agent 37 and maybe try to realize who he actually is.

This is it people, officially the last story from the Grayson era. Jackson Lanzing and Corin Kelly managed to bring a solid conclusion to the series but can they tell a proper enjoyable one-and-done story?

Well, I suppose they can.

The premise is sound enough with a group of characters with very little in common telling stories about Dick Grayson but they don't realize who he is because of his nature as an agent of Spyral. There are entertaining moments in the different sections that tell a lot from each one of them, not only from Dick. Constantine being the usual trickster, Azrael trying to save his people, Harley being absolutely insane and Simon trying to prove himself as a hero. Overall, they're pretty faithful and solid tales about the characters.

The way how they start telling stories about Dick is a bit forced though, sometimes you start wondering why they're all doing all of this but it manages to get to the point and the twist at the end makes sense considering that this is the final story of the book.

Roge Antonio handles the artwork during the main sections while Natasha Altereci, Christian Duce, Flaviano and Javier Fernandez handle the side tales and all of them manage to make an even better job than Antonio during their segments due to their distinctive styles.

Overall, this was a fun last issue that plays with a lot of the themes from the book. Nice way to go.
