Friendship is starting to get in trouble.
Fire's need for fame is starting to irritate Ice and for that reason she's ready to get new friends although Bea's ambition will go so far to start hiring supervillains.
Getting more and more entertaining.
Joanne Starer offers a new installment where she continues to develop the dynamic between Fire and Ice in Smallville. While the first issue was admittedly too depended on memes and such, this is more focused on how the relationship between the protagonists can start to break because of Bea's desire to get as much attention as possible and Ice even building a new friendship with a girl she met in town (which funnily enough, has some sort of romantic tones between everyone involved here and I don't know how to feel about that yet). Overall, the sense of humour is well-handled and the characterization is enjoyable at least.
The "plot" itself gets more amusing because of the sudden appearances of D-list characters like Ambush Bug and Gentleman Ghost among others and they're all incorporated into the book with the same comedic tone which shows how problematic Bea can get by now. The only issue I have is that the new character I complained about last issue is still really annoying (even whining about how she doesn't care about Ice and her friend because "they're white women") but fortunately her appearances are more limited now.
Natacha Bustos handles the art and is very pretty with a semi-cartoony style that gets the expressions of the characters right.
Fun read, hope the next one continues to improve.
