Recommendations from the week December 31st 2013

In the following order:

1. The Flash #26: Excellent stand-alone issue.
2. Red Lanterns #26: Best issue from this series yet.
3. Justice League Dark #26: If you want a title from the Blight crossover, this should be your choice.
4. Batwoman #26: Highly entertaining.
5. Forever Evil: A.R.G.U.S. #3: Other than the art, this was great.

Parker's Aquaman wasn't as good as I expected sadly, although it can still improve.

I might get a little ahead but I want to give everyone a happy new year!

I also want to thank everyone who has been following and reading all my crazy ramblings over the course of these few months. If you liked them, I really thank you for that and if you didn't, well, there's always room for improvement. However, never doubt that I will do my best to bring my opinions as soon and honest as possible.

If everything goes accord to my plans I will be doing this for a long time, so thank you and I hope that you enjoy your festivities!

Some thoughts about Forever Evil: A.R.G.U.S. #3

Steve Trevor will have to sacrifice his most precious memories if he wants to find the Justice League.

Steve will have to find Professor Stein if he wants to learn the wherabouts of Firestorm but what he will discover is something even more dangerous. Meanwhile, Doctor Light has been recruited by a new organization that has more extreme plans than A.R.G.U.S.

Some thoughts about Batwoman #26

After the supernatural threats, Batwoman is finally going to face more common one, that doesn't mean it will be easy though.

Kate Kane and her girlfriend Maggie Sawyer are attending into an art gallery where one of Kate's old friends is an expert. However, this also turns to be quite the attraction to the Wolf Spider, one of Gotham's new villains with a special taste for this.

Some thoughts about Justice League Dark #26

Blight's influence continues to expand around the world.

John Constantine and the rest of the Justice League Dark barely escaped their encounter with Blight, fortunately this also allowed them to know where one of their former teammates is. However, this won't be as simple as it appears since the Sea King from the Crime Syndicate has somehow survived his apparent death.

Some thoughts about The Flash #26

The Flash is about to face a threat in the only place where his powers are not that useful.

Barry Allen is doing his best to capture the culprit of Dr. Caulson's murder. Unfortunately, the villain turns to be much more resourceful and dangerous than he initally thought and so will begin a conflict that could start putting innocent lives at risk.

Some thoughts about Red Lanterns #26

  

Getting rid of a dictator might prove to be more difficult than what Guy Gardner imagined.

The Red Lanterns' plans to infiltrate Gensui's headquarters failed and now they will have to deal with an unexpected attack that will reveal their weaknesses and the only way to survive it will be to sacrifice one of their own.

Some thoughts about Aquaman #26

Aquaman's role as a king is about to get even more complicated.

Despite of all this time, Arthur still has problems at trying to separate his life between the sea and the surface while in the shadows a mysterious new theat is about to resurface.

How could Jeff Parker continue or even improve the quality of Aquaman?

At this point I suppose you already know that starting with issue 26, Jeff Parker is replacing previous writer Geoff Johns in Aquaman.

I already talked deeper about Johns' run in How did Geoff Johns turn Aquaman into one of the most popular DC franchises today? and I suppose you may think I'm already biased and fearful about Parker's run.

Well, you may be wrong, for the most part at least.

Recommendations from the week December 24th

In the following order:

1. Justice League #26: Great content and origins.
2. Avengers #24: Interesting beginning of the new storyline.
3. Forever Evil #4: Good villain dynamic.

Exactly what I expected overall.

Some thoughts about Avengers #24

The Avengers are about to celebrate Christmas in a cosmic way.

The team is having a well-deserved party after defeating Thanos once again. However, it won't last long since a mysterious visitant from the future who is bringing not only warnings about an immediate threat but also an upcoming one.

Some thoughts about Justice League #26

The lives from the Crimes Syndicate are being explored by their most recent and lifeless member.

Some thoughts about Forever Evil #4

Batman and Catwoman have survived from their supposed death, but will they be enough to stop the Crime Syndicate?
