Some thoughts about Justice Society of America #3

What are Per Degaton's plans?

Huntress has arrived to warn the JSA of what is killing different versions of them but she might be too late since apparently nothing can't stop their enemy.

Well, is good to know that the plot is actually progressing.

Geoff Johns offers a new installment and, while the first 2 entries (3 if we count The New Golden Age one-shot) were mostly a set-up for what's about to come, this quickly brings us to what seems to be the climax of the story. First of all, we learn more of Per Degaton's origin and, as expected from Johns, he connects it to some of the early stories in All-Star Comics while at the same time, giving it a much bigger context that also serves to the ongoing story.

More interesting though, is the gathering of several of the classic JSA members, both the classic and the new generation of Golden Age heroes and is always fun to see the multiple references to the history. The plot moves at a fast pace this time and fortunately we're leading to the main battle with the villain of the book, now if Johns will immediately follow on that is the real question.

I have never been a fan of Jerry Ordway's artwork but he admitedly works well since he has a very old-school style that is fitting to explore Per Degaton's origin and Mikel Janin offers a much more beautiful and modern style for the scenes in the present.

Good read, hope the next issue is not delayed for too long.
