What is David's true origin?
Superman is trying to teach David to be a hero but the kid's character is difficult to handle, especially once that what happened to his people is revealed and another team of villains prepare to attack.
This worked pretty well once again.
Mark Waid offers a new installment that further developes David's character. Mind you, it was pretty damn obvious what happened to his planet right from the beginning but at least this gives it an interesting enough twist that differentiates it from Superman's origin. More interesting though, is the dynamic between the Teen Titans and him, I really dig the way most of them are presented, especially Roy Harper who is appropriately portrayed as a douchebag (since this is his younger version), I don't know if this is enough to make me want a Teen Titans book written by Waid since Waid doesn't have the best track record writing kids but is a fine job so far.
About the plot, is interesting enough due that Waid incorporates both the Joker and... the Key for some reason (not the most logical choice since he's not really a Superman villain) and they get on-point portrayals that turns them into believable threats for the main characters, especially the Joker since you know he's going to hurt sidekicks.
Dan Mora's artwork remains amazing, the characters are beautiful, really expressive and the storytelling is perfect. I would definitely buy a Teen Titans book drawn by him.
Decent chapter. Hope the conclusion is satisfying.
