The heroes are getting desperate
Black Adam has decided to contact the Legion of Doom to face this crisis while Nightwing is trying to gather the remaining heroes to fight back but it might be too late.
More of the same I guess, except with a kinda different name.
Joshua Williamson continues his crossover and once again, demonstrates some of his strengths in character work. The relationships between the different characters are brought up front and Williamson definitely gets most, if not all, the cast right which is shown in the multiple interactions they have based on the desperate situation they're facing. All of this is helped by Williamson's typical attention to continuity which is nicely displayed when Lex Luthor tells Deathstroke that he knows what being possessed by a higher power feels like or how Detective Chimp has seen to many of his friends die already.
Unfortunately, the plot itself is still nothing to write about due that the proper "big battle" still doesn't occur and so this continues to feel like a set-up. Plus, I wish that important events like the return of Barry Allen didn't happen in tie-ins due that it makes the title seem incomplete (and I'm not much of a fan of Jeremy Adams' Flash run). Finally, the new title become pretty clear at the end and I'm still not sure what to think about this new status quo.
Daniel Sampere remains in art duties and his work is still pretty great, full of a great range of expressions and precise storytelling.
Mixed bag, things need to get somewhere already.
