Can Batman defeat Azrael and save Gotham City?
Bruce has decided to put an end to Azrael and Batman but Dick Grayson will remind him he doesn't need to lose his beliefs to win.
This is it. The conclusion of yet another book from the Sean Murphy's White Knight universe and just like in the first title, this one proves to be quite satisfying.
The final battle against Azrael reaches its climax with Bruce decided to risk everything to save the people he loves. Once again, the character work is key and one of the most important examples here is the conversation between Bruce and Dick where aspects of the classic Batman mythos are explored like the fact that Bruce is not that good of a father because of his obsession with his mission but still, his son loves him anyway. This seemed particularly on-point, not only from a perspective of history but also from a perspective of how father and son's relationships go.
The action escalates strongly with Azrael testing Bruce's patience and beliefs while also leading to the inevitable conclusion which is quite appropriate. Just as promised in the last issue, Bruce decides to pay for his actions but this also leads to an interesting development towards the end which means that this universe is far from over.
Murphy's artwork is stellar with the classic grim and gritty style that is both expressive and detailed, following the plot properly.
Great finale, can't wait for the next book.
