What caused the time disruption?
Stargirl has made contact with a young Time Master that explains why the Golden Age sidekicks went missing. However, the person who kidnapped them won't make things easy for them.
This story continues at a fast pace.
If there's something I can appreciate about Geoff Johns is how he's able to connect all of his stories in a pretty logical manner. Flashpoint connects to the New 52, the New 52 connects to Doomsday Clock, Doomsday Clock connects to Flashpoint Beyond and Flashpoint Beyond connects to Stargirl: The Lost Children. Of course, this wasn't the original plan back then (Lord knows there wasn't even a plan during the New 52 days) but Johns still gives a solid continuity between all of those stories, even better how each one of them showcase how much he has progressed as a writer.
The references are abundant like the appearance of many of those characters in this book, showing how each change in the continuity radically affected the future which lead to both the old and new sidekicks being lost. Even better is the return of classic and fan-favorite characters like Secret from Young Justice and even the Android Hourman. Johns is using this as an opportunity to bring back many faces that were lost to time.
Todd Nauck remains in art duties and you just know he had a lot to do with the return of Secret considering his involvement with her creation in Young Justice. The style is still energetics as always.
Good read, can't wait for the next one.
