Some thoughts about Flashpoint Beyond #4

What is the real evil behind this new universe?

Thomas is still trying to find a way to bring back his son and by doing so he will ignore the kid he saved which will lead to the return of one of the greatest villains of this world.

The story is delivering revelations and even more questions at the same time.

Geoff Johns alongside Jeremy Adams and (ugh) Tim Sheridan offer a new installment where the plot is progressing even further. We see even more glances about how this world works including mentions of David Knight (Starman) and I especially dig the new characterization of Oswald Cobblepot (The Penguin) and his dynamic with Thomas which presents the classic villain in a more compassionate light. Characterization is pretty great overall.

Most interesting though, are the different twists that occur during the chapter which bring back a character from the death and is still not clear how it happened but is most likely related to the time traveling segment that is focused on Bruce and is a promising development since I always thought there was more potential to explore about that particular character. If there's a complaint is that the issue at times still feels overwritten which is most likely because of the people accompanying Johns here but it doesn't ruin the read.

Xermanico handles most of the art and is still fantastic with beautiful and expressive characters along with precise storytelling. Mikel Janin also handles a page and is fine but needs more pages next time.

Solid read, can't wait for the next one.
