How can the Parasite be stopped?
Superman has been infected by the Parasite virus and his only hope is Lex Luthor now. However, this has been Luthor's plan all along.
While this particular battle ended earlier than I expected, it still did in an interesting manner.
Joshua Williamson concludes this opening arc by setting-up even more plot-points for the future and, I hope that's not something that he's planning to do too much in the long term because it reminds me too much of Scott Snyder. That being said, the fight against Parasite is pretty enjoyable by itself due that a few compelling concepts are introduced like Clark being infected (and showcases how strong he is to resist the hungry for enough time), using Livewire as part of its defeat and of course, Superman and Luthor working together which brings quite a few entertaining scenes.
More intriguing though is the idea that this collaboration between the two enemies is actually going to happen and obviously, one can't fully trust Lex about what he's saying (especially after how his own enemies refer to him) which creates a pretty engaging mystery over the course of the series. Add the charming moments between the rest of the cast (especially Lois and Clark) and you get a pretty satisfying read.
Jamal Campbell continues in art duties and his work is still amazing with a pretty vibrant look and strong storytelling that follows the script perfectly.
Good issue, let's see how the next arc opens.
