Some thoughts about Adventures of Superman: Jon Kent #2

Can Jon Kent defeat Ultraman?

Val-Zod and Lois Lane have asked Jon to help them stop the person who has been killed Supermen across the Multiverse but there might be an even bigger danger ahead.

HOW TO DEFEAT YOUR ENTIRE PREMISE IN ONE FRIKKING ISSUE!

I'm sorry but I just can't help but being extremely angry after reading but I'm not exactly disappointed since I was expecting much from Tom Taylor at this point but I honest to God wasn't expecting it to be this bad. The one single reason why I was kinda interested in this series was because apparently Taylor was going to tackle the forgotten plot-point that Brian Bendis created about Jon being kidnapped by Ultraman and he really didn't, in fact what he did was much worse.

Initially Taylor misleads you into thinking that he's actually building a connection between Jon and Ultraman one that could have potential after being further developed (mind you, it wasn't something I found particularly investing but at least seemed interesting enough) but noooooo! Taylor just can't give you that satisfaction, instead what he does is concluding the fight between the two in a pretty quick and derivative manner that barely tells you anything interesting about either of them.

Oh, but there's an actual surprise here.

Spoiler alert: Taylor decided to get rid of Ultraman pretty quickly by introducing his Superman from the Injustice universe who kills the former and that's the reason why we don't get to explore more of that connection, because Taylor just needed, NEEDED to force yet another of his pet characters into this story since apparently Cardboard Val-Zod and Lois Tornado were not enough.

Clayton Henry handles the art and his style is not my favorite but he follows the story fine and he's not the worst part here.

I just don't see any point to continue with this, this damn issue might put this into my Top Ten Worst DC Comics of this year, a single issue did that, that rarely happens.
