What is stronger than Nezha?
Batman's final battle with his son is about to start and the demon's manipulations are getting clearer. Unfortunately even if they manage to defeat their enemies there a much bigger threats ahead.
Eh, a bit of a mixed bag once again.
Mark Waid offers a new installment that brings a conclusion to his initial arc while at the same time preparing his next big event Lazarus Planet. The story progresses at a very fast rate and it actually offers interesting moments like the dynamic between Bruce and Damian and Batman getting the power of Doctor Fate presents a pretty interesting take of the concept of magic (and Batman using the Helmet is cool by itself).
However, there are things that could have been done better. First of all, Damian was manipulated as everyone predicted but that doesn't fix the bad characterization concerning Bruce and him early on. Second, a new antagonist comes literally out of nowhere and is probably from another book I'm not following, this really should been better set-up since it breaks the flow of the story. Finally, the story comes at an abrupt conclusion to prepare us for the next crossover and doesn't necessarily makes me excited for it.
Mahmud Asrar's artwork is pretty solid though thanks to his expressive characters and precise storytelling.
Didn't dig this one, not sure what to expect next.
