Some thoughts about World's Finest #11

What is David's future?

Superman is trying to control his new sidekick's anger but it might be too much for him and even if he tries to get the best from David, his fate might be much different from what he wants to.

For what started as a pretty derivative storyline, it ended-up being actually pretty satisfying.

Mark Waid concludes this little arc by also setting-up a few interesting elements that connect to his most famous works. As was revealed in the last issue, David is a version of Magog from Kingdom Come and the way this idea was introduced makes you believe this kid could grow-up to become such a 90s enraged superhero archetype, even better is how his relationship with Superman was build-up due that it not only brings a much more complex insight in the dynamic they had in Kingdom Come but also developes pretty important  and charming Superman traits.

The plot itself is not that important to be honest since this is mostly focused on character work but it gets the job done with a few serviceable antagonists while also introducing yet another villain that Waid is familiar with although he's creating a new twist with him.

Dan Mora remains in art duties and his work is still amazing with beautiful characters and a strong storytelling that elevates the script to a new level.

Great read, hope the next arc is just as good.
