The New Superman will have to learn more about his own powers to save the old one.
Kenan and Clark are reunited once again and they will need all the help they can get after a horde of demons begin their attack in Metropolis.
Once again, some things worked, others didn't.
For one, I do enjoy the direction that Gene Luen Yang is taking with the title. Creating a mythology for the title that is connected to Kenan's abilities which actually makes him much different from Clark. Is a pretty solid showcase of worldbuilding and allows the title to be much more complex.
Not only that but he also delivers a lot of content per issue being able to develop several plot-points at the same time by also progressing the main story satisfactorily and offering intriguing twists towards the end.
That being said, I still really like this take on China White. Once again, this is way too far from her original portrayal, the more supervillanous depiction is way too in your face and makes me miss her more subtle and down to Earth characterization from Green Arrow.
Viktor Bogdanovic remains in art duties and his work is still outstanding by being able to create beautiful characters with a pretty polished style that looks more and more like Greg Capullo's.
Still an enjoyable read for the most part, let's see where things go.
